Balestreri Award

The Balestreri Award is a prize sponsored by the National Association of Young Livestock Breeders (ANGA), and has been a regular feature of CremonaFiere’s International Dairy Cattle Show for many years. It is named after a young farmer, Mino Balestrieri, who lost his life in a tragic traffic accident at only 25 years old in 1998. With a degree in agriculture from the University of Piacenza, the young man had already begun working with passion in the family business with his father. In addition to his family, his passing threw into sorrow also his many friends who precisely to remember his qualities and passion for the work he was undertaking wanted to remember him with a plaque named after him, to be awarded annually during Cremona International Dairy Cattle Show involving in this project CremonaFiere, which immediately grasped the importance and value of such a symbolic gesture full of affection.
