Event Details

The Beltrami Award reaches its 25th edition, an initiative that, also this year, on the occasion of the International Livestock Fairs in Cremona, will recognize businesses and researchers in the agri-food sector who have distinguished themselves for a significant level of innovation in machinery, working methods, and processes used. The award, promoted by the Comizio Agrario of Cremona – Ente Eredità Girolamo Beltrami and by CremonaFiere itself, aims to promote a culture of innovation by increasing awareness that to innovate mainly means to enhance the efficiency of products and processes, and thus contribute to greater sustainability of environmental conditions. The award is open to businesses in the agri-food sector, including international ones, individual entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, and institutions that have developed an innovative project, product, or processing method.

The award includes four categories: Precision Agriculture understood as a tool for crop management aimed at considering the spatial and temporal variability of parameters such as soil composition, moisture, nutrient availability, presence of weeds, pathogens, etc., in the fields, using information and communication technologies. Precision Livestock Farming understood as the use of technologies to measure physiological, behavioral, productive, and reproductive indicators on individual animals, with the goal of improving management strategies and performance of the livestock. Primary Dairy Transformation understood as treatment and cheesemaking at agricultural businesses and/or at artisan cheesemaking companies immediately downstream of the raw material production. Energy Efficiency applied in the agricultural and livestock sector understood as the introduction of innovative processes and technologies for the creation of renewable energy production plants, the maintenance and improvement of existing ones (also in terms of efficient use of agricultural products for energy purposes, and for the production of biomethane from national supply chains).
