Cremona Livestock Exhibitions: a “living laboratory” for high school student

Cremona Livestock Exhibitions: 80th edition in partnership with Università Cattolica focuses on research and training for the future of young people

Cremona, July 2025 — The 80th edition of the International Livestock Exhibitions, scheduled to take place at CremonaFiere from November 27 to 29, 2025, is set to revolutionize the experience of young visitors, placing an unprecedented emphasis on education and training. At the heart of this initiative is a strengthened collaboration with the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Piacenza and Cremona.

Following the success of the conference on agricultural professions held on May 30 at the Università Cattolica of Cremona to mark World Milk Day, the partnership between CremonaFiere and the university takes a new step forward with the creation of a dedicated area within the fairgrounds. Here, researchers from the Faculty of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences will host interactive experimental demonstrations open to high school students of all disciplines — a unique opportunity for young people to experience firsthand the world of research and scientific experimentation.

“The fair has always paid great attention to the world of education and training,” explained Massimo De Bellis, Director of CremonaFiere. “That’s why this year, alongside our ‘On the Way to Cremona’ contest — now in its fourth edition with growing participation from schools — we are introducing a new initiative in collaboration with Università Cattolica. This dedicated area will showcase experimental activities where students can engage directly with research and laboratory work. The goal is to make their visit more interactive and stimulating, helping them understand not only technologies and techniques but also the professional pathways that await them in the future.”

For the academic world as well, this new hands-on presence at the fair represents an important step forward. Prof. Edoardo Fornari, of the Faculty of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences, noted: “Our Faculty has always been actively involved in the Cremona Fair through the participation of our professors in various events. For this 80th edition, we have made a particular effort to strengthen initiatives aimed at young people — from the conference on agri-livestock professions held in May to this new proposal, which we intend to open to high school students from all fields of study.”

Finally, Roberto Biloni, President of CremonaFiere, highlighted the key role of the fair in fostering knowledge exchange:

“A professional exhibition like ours must offer young people a journey guided by two beacons — education and vision. This journey unfolds throughout the year but culminates at the fair, where we present and bring to life the results achieved together with the university. It’s a way to give young people perspective, inspiration, and contribute to the growth of the entire sector.”
